Hell is For Real

We have all at least heard about the book turned movie Heaven Is For Real. Indeed, Heaven IS for real! Since that is fact, the opposite is also true, Hell is for real…..

No, for real…it is…

Hell is eternal judgment against unrighteousness where those who are condemned to it suffer torment forever. You might say, “Why would an all-loving God condemn people to eternal torment?” And you are at least half right, God is all-loving. However, He also despises evil, sin, and everything that is contrary to His word. And as much as He is all-loving He is also an impartial and JUST God. Hell is JUDGEMENT against unrighteousness thus affirming that God is fair and just.

You might then say, “Well, that does not seem like justice to me.” But in saying that, you put an Almighty being in subjecting to your reasoning. You are a part of His creation and He is the Creator. He is the Potter and we are the clay. Have you ever stopped and realized that maybe God’s idea of justice is a little more developed than yours? Your perspective is taken from the brief amount of time that you have been fortunate enough to live in. Meanwhile, God is dealing with the justice of every single being (both spiritual and physical) since the beginning of time!

Others might say, “Well, if God is so holy and righteous why did he create evil?” God created man with a free will. Man CHOSE to disobey God which resulted in sin and the destruction that is still present in today’s world.

Another might say, “Well, that’s YOUR God and I don’t care about all of that. When I die, that’s it. I just cease to exist.” Well, MY God says in HIS Bible that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. So yes, He is my God, but regardless of what you say and do now up until death, His word declares that you WILL acknowledge Him as God (Philippians 2:10-11).

No matter which way we may try to go to run away from the conviction of our own sin, the end result of everything we do is judgment. The judgment for unrighteousness (i.e., hell) is constantly described as eternal fire and torment. Christ consistently said there would be a weeping and gnashing of teeth in reference to hell. All unrighteousness will be judged! You will give an account of every single thing that you do!

The wise would then say, “Oh wow! Well, what can I do to escape such a punishment?” And I would say to them the work has been already done! Christ has taken the punishment we ALL rightful deserved. He took on our sins and died our death! Now He promises eternal LIFE to those who believe on Him and devote their lives to Him. Belief takes action! Faith without works is dead! You can’t say you believe in Christ and not bear any fruit! Don’t be like those in Matthew 7 that said “Lord, Lord have we not done this and that in your name?” And God says to them depart from me, I never knew you. Or those referred to in Matthew 15 who draw near to Him with their mouth and honor Him with their lips but their heart is far from Him. Let Him transform you! Put off the old self completely and be transformed into a new being by His restorative blood!

I’ve said this before and will say it again. There are only two destinations for every one of us. Yes, Heaven Is For Real, but Hell Is For Real, too. Make up your mind, choose Life!

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness,self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (Galatians 5:19-24)

Taking a STAND

As I was spending time with God He brought two concepts from my field of study (Industrial/Organizational Psychology – read about the field here) into mind: the problem of transfer of training and the research to practice gap. In basic terms, the transfer of training problem occurs when learning from a training program is not carried back for application on the job. The research to practice gap refers to both the deliberate and accidental distance between researchers’ and practitioners’ association. I mention these issues because they both directly relate to a message God imparted into my spirit about the current standing of His church. God wants His church to learn to apply the training we receive in the study of His Word and listening of sermons into the work that He has for us to do! Moreover, He wants when we rigorously research the issues we face that we actually put the solutions into practice!

The Bible says when you have done all things to stand…. then it says something extremely profound…..STAND! Now, you might say what’s so profound about just saying “stand,” well, I think we miss the whole picture when we just read over those scriptures quickly. Let’s break it down: Imagine yourself paying extreme attention to every thing you do before standing. Let’s say you stretch and then put on your shoes and then pop your knees and then straighten your legs. After literally doing “all things to stand” what is the last thing to do? Actually STAND! What if you did all of that only to sit right back down? That would be foolish!

When we prepare ourselves to stand on the Word of God, after all the preparation that we do, we must then actually stand on it and be streadfast and unmovable (1 Corinthians 15:58). God is saying when you have done all things to stop lying, when you’re in that moment, don’t lie. When you have done all things to not commit adultery, if the opportunity were to arise, don’t cheat on your spouse. When you have determined in your heart that you no longer want to sin against God and you put up all the defenses and He renews your heart, when sin comes to tempt you, don’t sin!

All of this sounds so simple and so easy but yet this is so hard for so many of us! The only way to transfer our spiritual training, to put our Bible research into practice, and to do all things to stand and then actually stand is to be 100% rooted in God and in His Word! The next time a situation arises, and you have made all preparations to stand, actually stand! All the strength and might of The Lord will be ministered unto you at the moment so that your knees are kept from becoming weak! You just have to make the decision: STAND for God, or FALL for anything…

May the grace of God be with you all.

Time vs. Eternity

Time: We all think we have a lot of it but at the same time we understand that we don’t. The same minute, hour, day, week, and month can seem like forever but at the same time can feel like it went by extremely quick. Time is one of the most important concepts we understand in this realm.

Eternity: Is void of the confines and constraints of time. In other words, eternity is not bound under the same constrictions as time. This means that everything we understand about this temporal realm cannot be applied to what we think we know about eternity. For example, the laws of physics cannot be applied to eternity simply because eternity operates outside of this temporal realm.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:8-9)

Our concept of time does not compare to the eternity that God embodies. We cannot use things we know about this realm to try to explain a realm void of the very thing that we are bound to… TIME. Eternity to me is a blank canvas and God is painting the picture every day so that I can learn more about it. I never want to make the mistake of limiting God and eternity by applying temporal constraints to it.

But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

The Bible says we have yet to see, hear, or think of what the true reality of the eternal blessings God has in store for those who love Him are like. I firmly believe this is because we are bound to time and have no true idea of what eternity even means! I pray that God gives us an eternity mindset to sow into the blessings He is preparing in Heaven that don’t even compare to the greatest things we can conjure up in our minds here on earth. There’s only two end destinations for all humanity and both of them are void of time, that is, they are both eternal. The clock is literally ticking; you still have TIME to choose Life!
